It’s Christmas time once again, and that means local light displays! We love sharing these area lights with you and your family, and one of the best places to find a comprehensive list is from Indy with Kids! We’ve narrowed their list down to some of our favorites in the Central Indiana area, and we hope that you’ll enjoy attending with your loved ones!
A few of the most well-known light displays in Indianapolis include Winterlights at Newfields and Christmas at the Zoo. You will need to purchase tickets to enjoy these Indy light displays, and the Newfields and Indianapolis Zoo displays allow you to walk through them. Newfields tickets cost $15 and up, and you’ll want to be sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time, as they cannot be purchased onsite. Christmas at the Zoo tickets have different costs per day, starting at $9.45 for children and $12.45 for adults.
The Indiana State Fairgrounds is offering the Christmas Nights of Lights for 2019, which is a unique drive-through experience where you will tune your car stereo to music synchronized to the lights. This show costs $7 per person with a $30 maximum per car.
These light displays are quite fun but can be crowded and may be a bit of a drive for our local customers. A great option in Hamilton County is a Merry Prairie Holiday at Conner Prairie. This annual festival is now home to the beloved Reynolds Farm Equipment Christmas Light display, and will also offer an early fireworks display on New Year’s Eve! Tickets can be purchased in advance online at a discount, or cost $20 for guests and $10 for Conner Prairie members at the gate.
Are you looking for a free light display in Hamilton County? There are many beautiful light displays that don’t cost a cent for you and your family to enjoy! The Jones Family Light Display on Gatwick View Drive is a local favorite with tons of lights. You can also see Gatwick Lights right next door with lots of decorative lights as well!
The Avalon of Fishers neighborhood at the corner of Olio Road and 126th Street Lights has several light displays to enjoy as you drive through. At 14125 Avalon East Drive, you’ll find a custom seven-minute show that is synchronized to music at frequency 100.1. This show plays on a loop from 6-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. If you enjoy character inflatables, check out 14376 Liverpool Place!
We hope that you enjoy some of our favorite light displays and shows happening this month in Central Indiana. Again, for a full list you can check out the Indy with Kids site!
